We install grant vortex oil boilers. These boilers are top notch, made in Ireland Birr co. Offaly and a market leader in this sector. Their boilers run at up to 97% efficiency when set up correctly and never after all our installations have, we had any problems or complaints with these boilers. Typically, a follow up call later in the year reveals how happy the customer is with the heat output of the boiler but also the low level of oil now being used.
A new condensing oil boiler will yield a saving of up to 20% on your old boiler and this was when your old boiler was new, not 20+ years old. If your boiler is this old, it may be running at 50 % efficiency or less. It’s a no brainer to upgrade to a new condensing boiler with what you could save on oil. You do the maths on what oil your using and how much you could be saving and see how quick it can pay for itself!
These boilers come in different types; the 3 main ones listed below.
1, Garage model boiler. These are located inside a garage or a purpose-built boiler house outside, these wouldn’t need protection from the weather as are inside.
2, Outdoor module, these are for outdoor use, and come with a galvanised outer casing, which make them completely waterproof and safe from the elements. Typically seen at the side of a house.
3, Indoor boilers. These are located as the name suggests indoors. They are normally in a utility or kitchen area and have a white casing to seal them off. Note, quite commonly we get asked to remove old indoor boilers and replace with an outdoor boiler on the footpath outside. This is quite easy to do and doesn’t cost anything extra to do, and plus it frees up room inside the home.
However, the boilers may remain the same wherever they are located with a different cover etc., but the sizes do vary and is very important to be correct with this. We will size the boiler for you. With a condensing boiler it is very important to slightly undersize it as opposed to oversizing it as this will take it out of condensing mode and not be as efficient as it could be. Customers do tend to look for bigger boilers than needed and this has to be explained as a larger boiler will still only generate the same heat but less efficiently.
Note: We do recommend a power flush with the installation of a new boiler. For more information click here powerflush
